Arabians have long
been the subject of legends. Highly prized by the Bedouin tribes, Arabians
were the object of careful breeding, extensive record keeping and, sometimes,
contention between tribes. Such breeding resulted in a very prepotent
horse, able to stamp progeny with many of the Arabian characteristics, including
beauty, courage, endurance and tractability. In fact, some taxonomy
experts consider Arabians to be a sub-species of horse, due anatomical
differences such as bone density and vertebral count.
Centuries of being
born and bred in very close association with man developed a breed with
unsurpassed gentleness, affection and closeness with his human "family".
It is not unusual for a very young foal to whinny and come running to the people
in his life, leaving mom to come running after. Such familiarity can be a
little troublesome occasionally when your horse decides to "help" with a

typey, correct Arabians with performance ability. Our Arabians are
athletic versatile performers, under saddle and harness, for any discipline.
Their type and carriage leaves no doubt they are Arabians. Braefiddich
horses have been successful in the show ring, dressage competitions,
hunter/jumper courses and competitive trail. More importantly, they have
the disposition to invaluable as the family pet/mount.
Founded with strong
Crabbet lines, Braefiddich added a Russian influence to our program when we
purchased Von Ali Mufasa. Mufasa has the very qualities we have always
stressed - athletic, beautiful, intelligent and he is the sweetest horse. For a
